After five successful days, the Infection Diagnosis Workshop has come to a close. The workshop featured the participation of 30 carefully selected students, with 12 students from the Institute of Medicine, University of Tsukuba, Japan, and 18 students from the School of Biotechnology and the School of Biomedical Engineering, International University – National University Ho Chi Minh City.

The Infection Diagnosis Workshop not only marks a special collaboration between the School of Biotechnology, International University, and the Institute of Medicine, University of Tsukuba, Japan, but it also provides a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese and Japanese students who had a chance to exchange language, culture and some knowledge in Biotechnology.

In the process of doing some experiments in the Laboratory of School of Biotechnology, International University, students could learn how to detect and identify some microorganisms in the environment through some techniques such as PCR technique, Gram staining and biochemistry reactions.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the professors from Institute of Medicine, University of Tsukuba who conducted the workshop. We are incredibly proud and delighted that the teaching faculty commended the outstanding performance of IU students, not only in theory and practical skills but especially in their professional research presentation abilities and excellent English proficiency.
